What We Do

The objectives of the Northwest Territories Council on Invasive Species, Pests and Pathogens are to:

  • Foster collaboration and coordination between NWT partners in land, water, and wildlife management to respond to and reduce the impact of invasive species, pests and pathogens.
  • Increase awareness and educate about the destructive impacts that invasive species, pests and pathogens can have on the environment, economy and society.
  • Serve as a respected source of credible information and resources on invasive species, pests and pathogens in the Northwest Territories.
  • Empower northern residents and visitors to prevent, detect and take action against invasive species, pests and pathogens.
